MCLAREN P1 INTERIOR REVEALED

McLaren’s regular dose of teasers continue to slide in ahead of the company’s supposedly greatest ever road creation, the new P1 hypercar. While we were quite happy with some camouflaged shots of the car on the track, being offered these interior shots is like a dream and we gladly accept them.

Designed to look and feel like the cockpit of a fighter jet, the P1’s interior is as comfortable as it is race-ready, with things like switch-gear being kept to an absolute minimum. Check the black carbon fibre and Alcantarapieces washing over the interior. Volvowould be proud their “centre floating” stack has also been adopted here. The fact that this is a hypercar does not exclude it from the everyday niceties, like climate control and a bespoke Meridiansound system with satellite navigation.

The steering rim, covered in Alcantara, is fashioned in CAD(computer aided design) that modelled McLaren’s former World Champions’ steering grip and is said to be as precise as McLaren’s Formula One car’s. Talk about following in Senna and Prost’s fingerprints!

More information will be forthcoming in the coming three weeks before the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show where the P1 will be fully unveiled.
